AI-suggested

Red Hat has released an official security update for ansible-collection-redhat-leapp as part of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.8 Extended Update Support. Applying this update remediates the insecure permissions issue and prevents unauthorized local access to PostgreSQL backup data. Users should follow the update instructions provided in the Red Hat advisory RHSA-2026:91490 and the referenced article https://access.redhat.com/articles/11258 to apply the patch. No additional mitigation steps are required once the update is applied.

Description

A vulnerability in the ansible-collection-redhat-leapp allows local non-root users on managed nodes to read sensitive PostgreSQL data backups due to insecure permissions on backup archives created during remediation tasks with elevated privileges. This leads to information disclosure but does not affect integrity or availability.
