Currently, no mitigation or patch meets Red Hat's criteria for deployment and stability. Users should monitor vendor advisories for updates. Until a fix is available, avoid processing untrusted PDF or PostScript documents with Ghostscript to reduce risk.
Description
A vulnerability in Ghostscript allows a remote attacker to cause an out-of-bounds memory read by processing a specially crafted PDF or PostScript document with malicious mesh shading data. This flaw can lead to a denial of service via application crash or limited information disclosure. The vulnerability requires local access with user interaction and has a low severity rating. No official patch or mitigation currently meets Red Hat's criteria for ease of use and deployment.
