A security update fixing this vulnerability is available from Red Hat for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9. Users should apply the official patch provided by Red Hat as detailed in advisory RHSA-2026:61587. No additional mitigation steps are required beyond applying the update.

Description

A vulnerability in GIMP's PSD file format plugin allows an attacker to trigger an unsigned integer underflow when opening a specially crafted .psd file. This underflow causes parser confusion, enabling arbitrary data injection as layer resource blocks, which can lead to arbitrary code execution on the victim's system.
