AI-suggested

Since exploitation requires a specialized network topology, review your deployment architecture to avoid using libsoup behind or in front of non-libsoup proxies with differing HTTP chunk parsing. Monitor Red Hat advisories for updates and patches. No immediate mitigation actions are specified by the vendor.

Description

A vulnerability in libsoup's soup_body_input_stream_read_chunked() function allows a remote attacker to exploit an unsigned to signed conversion error by sending a malicious HTTP request. This flaw occurs in specific network topologies where libsoup operates behind or in front of a non-libsoup proxy server, potentially enabling request smuggling. Exploitation can lead to bypassing security controls, poisoning web caches, or unauthorized access. The vulnerability is rated moderate due to the specialized conditions required for exploitation and is primarily relevant in non-standard deployments.
