AI-suggested

Red Hat has released OpenShift Container Platform 4.20.41 which includes fixes for this vulnerability. Users should upgrade to this version or later to remediate the issue. Instructions for upgrading are available in the Red Hat advisory and OpenShift documentation. No additional mitigations are required once the update is applied.

Description

A vulnerability in openshift/oauth-server allows an unauthenticated attacker to cause a denial of service by sending a crafted Accept-Language header with '_' separators. This triggers quadratic-time parsing in the golang.org/x/text/language.ParseAcceptLanguage() function, bypassing previous mitigations and consuming excessive CPU, resulting in denial of authentication service for all cluster users.
