AI-suggested
A fix is available from Red Hat as part of the rpm-sequoia-1.10.1.1-1.2.hum1 update. Users should apply this update to remediate the vulnerability. Until patched, avoid processing untrusted or attacker-controlled RPM files with rpm signature verification commands (rpm -Kv or rpm --checksig). Use isolated environments or additional validation layers when handling untrusted RPM artifacts.
Description
A vulnerability in rust-rpm-sequoia allows an attacker to cause a denial of service by providing a specially crafted RPM file. This triggers an error in the OpenPGP signature parsing code during RPM signature verification, causing the rpm process to terminate unconditionally and preventing further RPM signature verification.
