AI-suggested
Red Hat has released an official security update in the Red Hat build of Keycloak version 26.6.8 that addresses this vulnerability. Users should apply this update promptly to ensure strict enforcement of encrypted SMTP connections when STARTTLS is enabled. No additional mitigations are indicated by the vendor advisory.
Description
A vulnerability in the SMTP email configuration handling of the keycloak-services component allows fallback from encrypted to unencrypted communication when STARTTLS is enabled. This flaw permits an attacker intercepting network traffic to capture sensitive email credentials and message content in plaintext.
