Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-18187 is a format string vulnerability in the Internal Backup component of ADM. The flaw occurs because user-controlled input is incorporated into error messages and processed via an unsafe format string operation. An attacker with authentication privileges can exploit this to leak memory contents or disrupt service by causing the CGI process to crash. The affected versions are ADM 4.1.0 through 4.3.3.RUN1 and ADM 5.0.0 through 5.1.3.RI81. No patch or remediation information is provided in the source data.

Potential Impact

Successful exploitation can lead to disclosure of sensitive memory information or denial of service of the CGI process handling the backup tasks. This can compromise confidentiality and availability of the affected system component.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until an official fix is available, restrict access to the Internal Backup feature to trusted authenticated users only and monitor for unusual activity related to backup operations.
