Since Sophos UTM is end-of-life, users must manually install the available patch to remediate this vulnerability. No automatic or vendor-managed fixes are available. Until patched, disabling email proxy scanning or removing the affected product may reduce risk.
Description
A path traversal vulnerability in Sophos UTM allows a remote unauthenticated attacker to execute arbitrary code as root by exploiting a race condition during email proxy scanning. This affects all versions of Sophos UTM, which is now end-of-life. The vulnerability requires sustained repeated attacks over a few minutes to succeed.
