Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-94577 describes a privilege escalation vulnerability in Brocade Fabric OS's internal Command-Line Interface authorization mechanism. The flaw allows an authenticated user or local process that can manipulate the process execution environment to bypass Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) validation checks. Successful exploitation results in elevation of privileges to root. The affected versions are prior to 9.2.2d and versions 10.0.0 through 10.0.0a1. No known exploits in the wild have been reported. The vulnerability is categorized under CWE-15 (External Control of System or Configuration Setting).

Potential Impact

An attacker with authenticated access or local process control can bypass RBAC checks and escalate privileges to root, potentially gaining full control over the affected system. This could lead to unauthorized administrative actions and compromise of system integrity.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Since no patch links or official fixes are provided, users should monitor vendor communications for updates. Until a fix is available, restrict authenticated user and local process permissions to trusted entities only.
