Upgrade Unitree Robotics Unitree Go2 to version 1.1.11.5 or later to remediate this vulnerability. This upgrade fully resolves the OS command injection issue in the set_volume function. No other mitigation steps are indicated by the vendor.
Description
A security vulnerability has been detected in Unitree Robotics Unitree Go2 up to 1.1.11.4. The impacted element is the function set_volume of the file gpt_thread.py of the component chat_go. Such manipulation of the argument Value leads to os command injection. The attack can be launched remotely. Upgrading to version 1.1.11.5 is sufficient to resolve this issue. You should upgrade the affected component. The vendor confirmed early: "Submission 990502 corresponds to our internal ticket #474 (Go2 chat_go set_volume OS command injection, CWE-78)."
Impact
Successful exploitation allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary OS commands with potentially full system privileges, leading to complete compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the affected system. The CVSS v3.1 base score is 9.6 (Critical), reflecting network attack vector, low attack complexity, no privileges required, user interaction required, and high impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
Summary
CVE-2026-115995 is an OS command injection vulnerability in Unitree Robotics Unitree Go2 affecting the set_volume function in the gpt_thread.py file of the chat_go component. Manipulating the Value argument in this function enables remote attackers to execute arbitrary operating system commands. The vendor has confirmed the issue and assigned it internal ticket #474. The vulnerability is fixed in version 1.1.11.5.
