Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-19341 is a stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability in UTT HiPER 1200GW firmware versions up to 2.5.3-170306. The issue arises from improper handling of the EncryptionMode argument in the strcpy function located in /goform/pptpSrvGlobalConfig. This allows a remote attacker to trigger a buffer overflow condition, potentially leading to code execution or denial of service. The vulnerability is classified under CWE-119. Although publicly disclosed, there is no vendor response or patch available at this time.

Potential Impact

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability can lead to complete compromise of the affected device, including full confidentiality, integrity, and availability impact. The attacker can remotely execute arbitrary code or cause a denial of service via the buffer overflow in the strcpy function. The high CVSS score (8.8) reflects the critical nature of this vulnerability.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Since the vendor has not responded and no patch is available, users should consider mitigating exposure by restricting remote access to the affected device and monitoring for suspicious activity related to the /goform/pptpSrvGlobalConfig endpoint. Follow vendor channels for updates on official fixes.
