Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-41223 describes a stack-based buffer overflow in the boa web server component's formMapDelDevice macstr functionality on the TOTOLINK X2000R device running firmware version TOTOLINK-X2000R-Gh-V1.0.0-B20250421.1327. The vulnerability can be exploited by an authenticated attacker via a crafted HTTP request, allowing arbitrary code execution. The CVSS 3.1 base score is 9.1, reflecting network attack vector, low attack complexity, required high privileges, no user interaction, and complete impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability.

Potential Impact

Successful exploitation allows an authenticated attacker to execute arbitrary code on the affected device, compromising system confidentiality, integrity, and availability. This could lead to full control over the device and disruption of its normal operation.

Mitigation Recommendations

No patch or official fix information is currently available. Since the vulnerability requires authentication, restricting access to the device's management interface and monitoring for suspicious authenticated activity can reduce risk. Check the vendor advisory regularly for updates on patches or official remediation.
