Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-18167 is a stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability in the EasyMesh module of TP-Link Archer AX55 v4. The flaw is triggered when Mesh mode is enabled and a local attacker on the LAN submits specially crafted input to the easymesh daemon. Successful exploitation can cause the daemon to crash and may allow remote code execution on the device, leading to a high impact on device security.

Potential Impact

Exploitation may result in denial of service due to daemon crashes and potentially remote code execution, compromising the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the affected device.

Mitigation Recommendations

No patch or official fix information is currently available. Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until a fix is released, disabling Mesh mode may reduce exposure to this vulnerability.
