Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-62648 affects Reyrolle 7SR5 devices with versions before 2.70. The vulnerability arises because the length of the URL component in pre-authenticated HTTP requests is not properly validated before appending additional data, leading to an out-of-bounds write condition in memory. This memory corruption can cause the device to crash and reboot, resulting in a denial-of-service condition. The vulnerability does not impact confidentiality or integrity, only availability.

Potential Impact

An unauthenticated remote attacker can exploit this vulnerability to crash the affected device, causing it to reboot and become temporarily unavailable. This results in a denial-of-service condition impacting device availability. There is no indication of data disclosure or integrity compromise.

Mitigation Recommendations

No patch or official fix information is currently available. Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until a fix is available, consider restricting network access to the device's HTTP interface to trusted sources to reduce exposure.
