AI-suggested

Apply any available patches if released by the vendor. Since the TIF-Annotations option is off by default, normal users are not affected unless they enable this feature. Users should avoid enabling the TIF-Annotations option until a fix is applied. Monitor vendor advisories for official patches or updates.

Description

A heap-based buffer overflow vulnerability exists in the TIFF Wang Annotation Handler component of IrfanView 4.76.0.0 on Win64. The vulnerability can be triggered remotely but requires high attack complexity and user interaction. The vendor notes that the TIF-Annotations option is off by default, reducing exposure for normal users and classifying the danger level as low.
