Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-110670 identifies a SQL injection vulnerability in cemtan sar2html 4.0.0. Specifically, the updateDb function in sar2html.py improperly handles the s2host argument, enabling remote attackers to inject SQL code. This vulnerability is exploitable without authentication and requires no user interaction. The issue was reported early to the project, but no patch or remediation has been provided to date.

Potential Impact

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability can lead to unauthorized disclosure, modification, or deletion of data within the affected database. Given the remote attack vector and lack of required privileges, attackers can potentially compromise the integrity and availability of the Archive Processing component's data.

Mitigation Recommendations

No official fix or patch is currently available, and the vendor has not responded to the issue report. Users should monitor the project for updates and consider implementing application-level protections such as input validation or web application firewalls to mitigate SQL injection risks until an official fix is released.
