Until an official fix is available, restrict access to the vulnerable CGI endpoint, implement network-level filtering to block untrusted sources from accessing the device management interface, and monitor for any suspicious activity related to this vulnerability.
Description
A critical OS command injection vulnerability exists in the CGI Handler component of Totolink A8000RU firmware version 7.1cu.643_b20200521. The flaw is triggered by manipulating the 'proto' argument in the /cgi-bin/cstecgi.cgi endpoint. This vulnerability can be exploited remotely without authentication. Public exploit code is available, increasing the risk of exploitation.
