Since the vulnerability requires administrative portal access to enable Deep Logging, restricting and monitoring administrative access is critical. Disable Deep Logging mode unless explicitly needed and ensure log files are protected from unauthorized access.
Description
A vulnerability in the PaperCut Hive Ricoh embedded application allows administrative credentials to be recorded in plain text within log files when the Deep Logging mode is enabled. An attacker with administrative access to the management portal can enable this mode remotely and retrieve sensitive passwords from the logs after an authorized user authenticates at the device. This exposure could enable lateral movement or unauthorized configuration of the print hardware.
