Technical Analysis
CVE-2026-10131 describes an OS command injection vulnerability in the boa web server's formPasswordSetup functionality on the TOTOLINK X2000R device, specifically version TOTOLINK-X2000R-Gh-V1.0.0-B20250421.1327. An attacker with authentication privileges can send a crafted HTTP request that triggers arbitrary code execution on the device. The vulnerability is classified under CWE-78 (Improper Neutralization of Special Elements used in an OS Command).
Potential Impact
Successful exploitation allows an authenticated attacker to execute arbitrary operating system commands on the affected device, potentially leading to full compromise including confidentiality, integrity, and availability impacts. The CVSS v3.1 score of 9.1 reflects critical impact with network attack vector, low attack complexity, required privileges, no user interaction, and complete compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
Mitigation Recommendations
No patch or official remediation information is currently available. Since the vulnerability requires authentication, restricting access to the management interface and monitoring for suspicious authenticated activity may reduce risk. Check the vendor's advisory for updates on patches or official fixes.
