If you cannot patch yet, restrict database user privileges to limit write access and monitor applications using the driver for crashes that may indicate exploitation attempts.
Description
CVE-2026-120952 is an out-of-bounds write vulnerability in the MongoDB Atlas SQL ODBC Driver. It occurs when the driver retrieves a value of a particular database type into a fixed-width client-side target, producing a textual form longer than the target size and copying it without bounds checking. This can corrupt memory in the application using the driver and cause unexpected termination. The vulnerability requires a database user with basic write privileges to influence the out-of-bounds write.
