Description

APITable versions through 1.13.0-beta.1 have an authorization vulnerability in the NodePermissionGuard component. This flaw causes node-level access control to fail when permission lookups throw exceptions. Attackers with valid Fusion API tokens can exploit this to write attachments to private datasheets they should not have access to.

Technical Analysis

The vulnerability in APITable up to version 1.13.0-beta.1 is due to improper authorization enforcement in the NodePermissionGuard. When permission lookups result in exceptions, the guard fails to enforce node-level access control properly. This allows attackers possessing valid Fusion API tokens to bypass restrictions and write attachments to private datasheets they are explicitly denied access to. The issue is categorized under CWE-636 (Incorrect Authorization).

Potential Impact

The vulnerability allows attackers with valid Fusion API tokens to write data (attachments) to private datasheets without proper authorization. This results in unauthorized data modification but does not impact confidentiality or availability according to the CVSS vector (Confidentiality: None, Integrity: Low, Availability: None).

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. No official fix or patch links are provided at this time. Until a patch is available, restrict issuance of Fusion API tokens to trusted users and monitor for suspicious attachment writes to private datasheets.
