A fix is available in Wireshark version 4.2.0 and later. Users should upgrade to version 4.2.0 or newer to remediate this vulnerability. Since this is not a cloud service, manual patching is required.
Description
A buffer overflow vulnerability exists in Wireshark versions before 4.2.0 in the pan/addr_resolv.c component, specifically in the ws_manuf_lookup_str() function. This flaw allows a remote attacker to cause a denial of service by triggering the overflow.
