Until a fix is applied, avoid processing untrusted XML documents with extremely large attribute counts to mitigate risk.
Description
libexpat versions through 2.9.0 have a signed integer overflow vulnerability in the storeAtts() function within lib/xmlparse.c. This flaw allows attackers to cause out-of-bounds writes by supplying XML documents with an excessively large number of attributes (over 2^30) in a start tag. Exploitation can lead to application crashes or heap memory corruption.
