AI-suggested

Users should check the vendor advisory or distribution updates for BlueZ 5.64-0ubuntu1 or later versions for official fixes. Some mitigations from CVE-2020-0556 may already reduce risk. Until a fix is confirmed, restricting Bluetooth device pairing to trusted devices and monitoring for unusual HID activity is advisable.

Description

CVE-2023-45866 is a vulnerability in the Bluetooth HID Hosts component of BlueZ, specifically affecting version 5.64-0ubuntu1 as shipped in Ubuntu 22.04 LTS. It allows an unauthenticated Bluetooth HID Peripheral device to initiate and establish an encrypted connection and send HID keyboard reports without user interaction or authorization on the Central role. Some mitigations from CVE-2020-0556 may partially address this issue.
