Technical Analysis

The 2Checkout Payment Gateway for WooCommerce plugin suffers from a missing capability check (CWE-862) in its sniff_ins function. This flaw permits unauthenticated users to alter order information, including marking orders as paid, due to the absence of proper authorization validation. The vulnerability affects all versions up to 6.2 and has a CVSS 3.1 base score of 5.3, indicating a medium level of severity. No patch or vendor advisory detailing remediation is currently provided.

Potential Impact

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until a fix is available, restrict access to the affected plugin's functionality and monitor for suspicious activity related to order modifications.
