AI-suggested
Upgrade CTFd to version 3.7.5 or later, where this vulnerability has been fixed by enforcing single-use tokens and separating token usage for account activation and password reset. Until upgraded, avoid using insecure networks where token interception is possible.
Description
CVE-2024-11717 is a vulnerability in CTFd up to version 3.7.4 where account activation and password reset tokens can be used interchangeably and are not single-use. These tokens are sent as GET parameters and include base64 encoded user emails. An attacker on the network path could reuse a token during its validity period to change a user's password and take over the account. The issue was fixed in version 3.7.5.
