Description
CVE-2024-1635 is a vulnerability in Undertow affecting servers supporting the wildfly-http-client protocol. It causes uncontrolled resource consumption when a malicious user repeatedly opens and closes HTTP connections, leading to exhaustion of memory and open file limits. The issue arises from a connection leak in the WriteTimeoutStreamSinkConduit component during HTTP upgrade to remoting, where the conduit is not notified of closed connections, causing a memory leak via timeout tasks tied to worker threads.
