Until a fix is available, consider implementing network-level protections such as rate limiting or filtering suspicious chunked requests to mitigate potential exploitation.
Description
CVE-2024-22019 is a high-severity vulnerability in Node.js HTTP servers where specially crafted HTTP requests with chunked encoding can cause resource exhaustion. The flaw arises because the server reads an unlimited number of bytes from a single connection due to missing limits on chunk extension bytes. This can lead to denial of service by exhausting CPU and network bandwidth, bypassing typical protections like timeouts and body size limits.
