What to do
AI-suggested
Organizations should immediately assess their use of Mgt-commerce CloudPanel versions 2.0.0 through 2.4.0 and prioritize upgrading to a patched version once available. In the absence of an official patch, implement strict input validation and sanitization on the 'service' parameter within the load-logfiles function to prevent directory traversal. Restrict access to the CloudPanel interface to trusted networks and enforce strong authentication and least privilege principles to limit attacker capabilities. Employ web application firewalls (WAFs) with custom rules to detect and block directory traversal patterns targeting the vulnerable parameter. Monitor logs for suspicious access patterns or attempts to exploit the vulnerability. Conduct regular security audits and penetration testing focused on this component. Finally, maintain up-to-date backups and incident response plans to mitigate potential damage from exploitation.
Description
Directory Traversal vulnerability in Mgt-commerce CloudPanel v.2.0.0 thru v.2.4.0 allows a remote attacker to obtain sensitive information and execute arbitrary code via the service parameter of the load-logfiles function.
