AI-suggested
A patch is available that fixes the shift issue in ufshcd_clear_cmd(). Users should update to a fixed Linux kernel version to remediate this vulnerability. Specific affected versions include various Linux kernel builds prior to 6.8.0-2001.1 and several exact older versions. No vendor advisory contradicts this; applying the official kernel update is recommended.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's SCSI UFS core component was fixed to address a shift operation issue in the ufshcd_clear_cmd() function. The flaw occurs when task_tag is 32 or greater and the system uses a 4-byte unsigned int, causing an out-of-bounds bitwise shift. This can lead to kernel exceptions and internal errors. The issue has been resolved in affected Linux kernel versions.
