What to do
AI-suggested
- Restrict network access to management interfaces of LBT T300-T390 devices, limiting exposure to trusted internal networks only.
- Implement strict firewall rules and network segmentation to isolate these devices from untrusted or public networks.
- Monitor network traffic for unusual or malformed POST requests targeting the apn_name_3g parameter or the setupEC20Apn function endpoints.
- Employ intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS) with signatures or anomaly detection tuned to detect exploitation attempts of this stack overflow.
- Coordinate with the device vendor for timely release and application of firmware patches addressing this vulnerability.
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing focusing on these devices to identify potential exploitation paths.
- Maintain up-to-date asset inventories to quickly identify and remediate affected devices.
- Educate network administrators about this vulnerability and the importance of limiting device exposure and monitoring.
Description
LBT T300-T390 v2.2.1.8 were discovered to contain a stack overflow via the apn_name_3g parameter in the setupEC20Apn function. This vulnerability allows attackers to cause a Denial of Service (DoS) via a crafted POST request.
