What to do
AI-suggested
To mitigate CVE-2024-28288, organizations should immediately verify if they are using the Ruijie RG-NBR700GW router with firmware version 10.3(4b12). If so, they should contact Ruijie Networks for official patches or firmware updates addressing this vulnerability. In the absence of a patch, administrators should restrict access to the router’s management interface by implementing network segmentation and firewall rules to limit management access to trusted IP addresses only. Enabling multi-factor authentication (MFA) for device management, if supported, can add an additional layer of security. Monitoring network traffic for unusual password reset requests or administrative logins can help detect exploitation attempts. Additionally, organizations should consider temporarily disabling remote management features until a patch is available. Regular backups of router configurations and maintaining an incident response plan for network device compromise are also recommended. Finally, educating IT staff about this vulnerability and ensuring timely application of vendor updates is critical.
