What to do

AI-suggested

To mitigate CVE-2024-28389, organizations should immediately audit their use of the KnowBand spinwheel module and upgrade to a patched version once available. In the absence of an official patch, implement strict input validation and sanitization on all user-supplied data, especially within the sendEmail() method. Employ parameterized queries or prepared statements to prevent SQL injection. Deploy a Web Application Firewall (WAF) with rules specifically designed to detect and block SQL injection attempts targeting this module. Monitor database logs and application behavior for unusual queries or access patterns indicative of exploitation attempts. Restrict database user privileges to the minimum necessary to limit the impact of a potential breach. Additionally, conduct regular security assessments and penetration testing focused on injection vulnerabilities. Finally, maintain an incident response plan to quickly address any exploitation attempts.

Description
