AI-suggested

To mitigate CVE-2024-30886, organizations should implement strict input validation and output encoding on the url parameter within the remotelink function to prevent injection of malicious scripts. Employing a web application firewall (WAF) with rules targeting XSS payloads can provide an additional layer of defense. Enforce Content Security Policy (CSP) headers to restrict the execution of unauthorized scripts in browsers. Limit user privileges to the minimum necessary to reduce the risk posed by attackers with low-level access. Conduct regular security audits and code reviews focusing on input handling. Monitor application logs for unusual or suspicious URL parameter usage that could indicate attempted exploitation. Until an official patch is released, consider disabling or restricting access to the vulnerable remotelink functionality if feasible. Educate users about the risks of interacting with untrusted links to reduce successful user interaction exploitation.

Description

A stored cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in the remotelink function of HadSky v7.6.3 allows attackers to execute arbitrary web scripts or HTML via a crafted payload injected into the url parameter.
