What to do
AI-suggested
- Immediately isolate affected Tenda W30E routers from untrusted networks, especially the internet, to reduce exposure.
- Disable remote management and any unnecessary services that accept external connections to the router.
- Implement network segmentation to limit the router’s access to critical internal resources.
- Monitor network traffic for unusual patterns or signs of exploitation attempts targeting the 'page' parameter or related functions.
- Use intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS) with custom signatures to detect exploitation attempts once available.
- Contact Tenda support or monitor official channels for firmware updates or patches addressing this vulnerability, and apply them promptly when released.
- Consider replacing vulnerable devices with alternative hardware if immediate patching is not feasible.
- Educate users and administrators about the risks and signs of compromise related to this vulnerability.
- Maintain regular backups and incident response plans to quickly recover from potential breaches.
- Employ network-level filtering to block suspicious inbound traffic targeting the router’s management interfaces.
