AI-suggested

Upgrade FreeRDP to version 2.11.6 or later, or 3.5.0 or later, where the vulnerability is patched. Alternatively, use modern drawing paths such as /rfx or /gfx as a workaround, noting that this requires server-side support. No other mitigation is indicated.

Description

CVE-2024-32460 is a high-severity out-of-bounds read vulnerability in FreeRDP, a free implementation of the Remote Desktop Protocol. It affects FreeRDP clients using the legacy GDI drawing path with 32 bits per pixel (/bpp:32) in versions prior to 2.11.6 and 3.5.0. The issue is patched in versions 2.11.6 and later. A workaround is to use modern drawing paths such as /rfx or /gfx, which require server-side support.
