What to do

AI-suggested

  1. Immediately restrict remote management access to the ASUS RT-AX88U router by disabling WAN-side administration and limiting access to trusted IP addresses only.
  2. Segment the network to isolate the router management interface from general user networks, reducing exposure.
  3. Monitor network traffic for unusual patterns or unexpected connections to the router, which may indicate exploitation attempts.
  4. Apply any available firmware updates from ASUS as soon as they are released addressing this vulnerability.
  5. 6. Employ network intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS) with signatures or heuristics capable of detecting exploitation attempts targeting this vulnerability. 7. Educate network administrators and users about the risk and signs of compromise related to router vulnerabilities. 8. Regularly audit router configurations and firmware versions to ensure compliance with security best practices.
