What to do
AI-suggested
- Upgrade Logpoint to version 7.4.0 or later, where this vulnerability has been addressed.
- Restrict local access to systems running Logpoint to trusted administrators only, minimizing the risk of local exploitation.
- Implement strict file system permissions to limit which files can be accessed by the Logpoint File System Collector process.
- Monitor logs for unusual file access patterns or unexpected inclusion of sensitive files in log data.
- Use application whitelisting or endpoint protection solutions to detect and prevent unauthorized local activities.
- Conduct regular audits of user privileges and system configurations to ensure least privilege principles are enforced.
- If upgrading immediately is not feasible, consider disabling or restricting the File System Collector feature until a patch is applied.
