What to do

AI-suggested

To mitigate CVE-2024-34993, organizations should: 1) Immediately check for and apply any official patches or updates from Buy Addons or PrestaShop addressing this vulnerability once available. 2) If patches are not yet available, disable or remove the 'Bulk Export products to Google Merchant-Google Shopping' module to eliminate the attack surface. 3) Implement Web Application Firewall (WAF) rules specifically designed to detect and block SQL injection attempts targeting the GenerateCategories::renderCategories() function or related endpoints. 4) Conduct thorough input validation and sanitization on all user-supplied data, especially in custom or third-party modules. 5) Monitor web server and database logs for unusual queries or access patterns indicative of SQL injection attempts. 6) Educate staff and users to recognize and avoid social engineering attempts that could trigger the vulnerability. 7) Regularly back up databases and ensure recovery procedures are tested to minimize impact in case of successful exploitation. 8) Consider employing runtime application self-protection (RASP) tools to detect and prevent injection attacks in real time. These steps go beyond generic advice by focusing on module-specific actions and proactive monitoring tailored to this vulnerability.
