Description

The WP Shortcodes Plugin — Shortcodes Ultimate plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the plugin's shortcode(s) in all versions up to, and including, 7.1.2 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user supplied attributes. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with contributor-level access and above, to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.

Impact

An attacker with contributor-level or higher privileges can exploit this vulnerability to perform stored cross-site scripting attacks, potentially leading to partial confidentiality and integrity impacts by executing arbitrary scripts in the context of other users. This could allow actions such as session hijacking or content manipulation within affected pages. There is no impact on availability. No known exploits have been reported in the wild.
