A fix is available that moves the EST lock to the stmmac_priv structure and ensures proper mutex lock reacquisition during initialization. Users should update to the fixed Linux kernel versions to remediate this issue.

Description

CVE-2024-38594 addresses a concurrency issue in the Linux kernel's stmmac network driver where the EST lock was embedded within the EST structure. Reinitializing the EST structure reset the mutex lock, causing warnings and potential instability. The fix moves the EST lock to the stmmac_priv structure and ensures proper mutex reacquisition during initialization.
