A fix is available that aligns the peer devlink set logic with the devlink registration flow. Users should update their Linux kernel to a version that includes this patch. No additional mitigation is required beyond applying the official fix.
Description
CVE-2024-38595 is a vulnerability in the Linux kernel's mlx5 network driver related to the peer devlink set logic for SF representor devlink ports. The flaw causes a kernel call trace (crash) when peer devlink set is invoked after devlink registration due to misaligned logic. This issue has been fixed by aligning the peer devlink set logic with the devlink registration flow.
