Technical Analysis

This vulnerability affects the OPC UA .NET Standard Stack prior to version 1.5.374.158. When the deprecated Basic128Rsa15 security policy is enabled, an attacker can bypass application authentication mechanisms. The CVSS 3.1 score is 8.6, indicating a high-severity issue with network attack vector, low attack complexity, no privileges or user interaction required, and impacts confidentiality, integrity, and availability to varying degrees.

Potential Impact

An attacker can gain unauthorized access to the application by bypassing authentication, potentially leading to exposure of sensitive information (high confidentiality impact), limited modification of data (low integrity impact), and limited disruption of service (low availability impact).

Mitigation Recommendations

A fix is available in version 1.5.374.158 or later. Users should upgrade to this version or later to remediate the vulnerability. Additionally, disabling the deprecated Basic128Rsa15 security policy will mitigate the risk. No other mitigation guidance is provided.
