AI-suggested

Organizations should immediately review user privilege assignments within VTiger CRM to ensure that only trusted administrators have access to the 'Migration' module. Implement strict access controls and network segmentation to limit low-privileged user access to administrative interfaces. Monitor logs for unusual activity related to module management or migration functions. Since no official patches are currently available, consider applying temporary workarounds such as disabling the 'Migration' module for non-administrative users or restricting access via web application firewalls (WAFs) or reverse proxies. Regularly check for vendor updates or security advisories to apply patches promptly once released. Conduct thorough security audits and penetration testing to identify and remediate privilege escalation paths. Educate users about the risks of privilege misuse and enforce the principle of least privilege across the CRM environment.

Description

VTiger CRM <= 8.1.0 does not correctly check user privileges. A low-privileged user can interact directly with the "Migration" administrative module to disable arbitrary modules.
