AI-suggested
To mitigate CVE-2024-44919, organizations should implement strict input validation and output encoding on the ad description parameter within admin_ads.php to prevent injection of malicious scripts. Employ Content Security Policy (CSP) headers to restrict script execution sources and reduce XSS impact. Limit administrative access to trusted users and enforce multi-factor authentication to reduce the risk of compromised credentials. Monitor web application logs for suspicious input patterns targeting the ad description field. Regularly update SeaCMS to newer versions if and when patches are released. Conduct security awareness training for administrators to recognize and avoid interacting with suspicious content.
Description
A cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in the component admin_ads.php of SeaCMS v12.9 allows attackers to execute arbitrary web scripts or HTML via a crafted payload injected into the ad description parameter.
