What to do

AI-suggested

The vulnerability has been resolved by masking ring interrupts before issuing the ring stop request. No specific patch links are provided in the data, and no cloud service is involved. Users should apply the official Linux kernel updates that include this fix once available.

Description

CVE-2024-45828 is a medium severity vulnerability in the Linux kernel's i3c mipi-i3c-hci driver. It involves a race condition during the bus cleanup path in DMA mode where a ring interrupt may occur after the ring stop request, potentially causing a NULL pointer dereference in the interrupt handler. This is due to the interrupt handler running after the io_data pointer has been set to NULL. The issue is addressed by masking ring interrupts before issuing the ring stop request.
