AI-suggested
To mitigate CVE-2024-46540, organizations should immediately upgrade Emlog Pro to version 2.3.15 or later, where the vulnerability has been patched. If upgrading is not immediately possible, restrict access to the /admin/store.php component to trusted administrators only and implement strict access controls and monitoring on administrative functions. Employ application-level firewalls or web application firewalls (WAFs) to detect and block suspicious file upload or extraction activities. Regularly audit user privileges to ensure that only necessary users have high-level access, minimizing the risk of insider threats. Additionally, implement file integrity monitoring to detect unauthorized changes to web directories and deploy endpoint detection and response (EDR) tools to identify anomalous behaviors indicative of webshell deployment. Conduct thorough incident response planning to quickly address any signs of compromise related to this vulnerability.
Description
A remote code execution (RCE) vulnerability in the component /admin/store.php of Emlog Pro before v2.3.15 allows attackers to use remote file downloads and self-extract fucntions to upload webshells to the target server, thereby obtaining system privileges.
