What to do
AI-suggested
- Immediately restrict network access to the dataSearch.jsp page to trusted users only, using network segmentation or firewall rules.
- Implement web application firewall (WAF) rules to detect and block SQL Injection attempts targeting the id parameter.
- Conduct thorough input validation and sanitization on all user-supplied data, especially the id parameter, using parameterized queries or prepared statements where possible.
- Monitor application logs and database logs for suspicious queries or anomalies indicative of injection attempts.
- Engage with ESAFENET for updates or patches and apply them promptly once available.
- Consider deploying runtime application self-protection (RASP) solutions to detect and block exploitation attempts in real time.
- Perform security assessments and penetration testing focused on injection vulnerabilities to identify other potential weaknesses.
- Educate developers and administrators about secure coding practices to prevent similar vulnerabilities.
- If feasible, isolate the vulnerable application environment to limit potential damage from exploitation.
- Maintain regular backups and ensure recovery procedures are tested to mitigate impact of data tampering or loss.
Description
