AI-suggested

To mitigate CVE-2024-48708, organizations should implement strict input validation and output encoding on the 'name' parameter in tasklist.php and admin.php to neutralize malicious scripts. Employing a web application firewall (WAF) with rules targeting XSS payloads can provide an additional layer of defense. Administrators should restrict user privileges to the minimum necessary to reduce the risk of exploitation. Regularly auditing user inputs and monitoring logs for suspicious activity can help detect attempted exploitation. Educate users about the risks of clicking on untrusted links or executing unexpected actions within the application. Finally, maintain an incident response plan to quickly address any suspected compromise stemming from this vulnerability.

Description

Collabtive 3.1 is vulnerable to Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) via the name parameter in (a) file tasklist.php under action = add/edit and in (b) file admin.php under action = adduser/edituser.
